- Janet Evanovich ($17 million)
- Nicholas Sparks ($16 million)

Wouldn't I love to see my name on that list one of these days (this would require that I actually work on my fiction again, which has been sorely ignored since I became a mom)? Of course, writing is so much more than a way to make money for me. It's catharsis, a way to sort out me feelings, a form of entertainment (reading and writing are my two favorite ways to unwind at the end of the day), a way to document the silly things and touching memories my kids give me every day in the trenches of motherhood. It's even sometimes a way to pray. So even if I never make the Forbes list or even publish a novel, I'll keep writing.
